Janelle provides a compassionate presence for you to share your story, garner insights, process emotions, and practice new behaviors. Janelle uses a strengths-based approach to foster a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Her style is warm and inviting, supportive while gently holding you accountable. Janelle checks in with you about the process, offers direct feedback and provides you with tools and resources to enhance your therapeutic work in session and in your daily life.
Janelle loves working with individuals; she provides guidance to clients seeking greater balance during life transitions, self-acceptance and self-care, forgiveness, and discussing purpose and meaning.
Janelle’s passion is working with couples and relationships to strengthen and enhance communication. Often times couples experience feeling disconnected due to life transitions. Janelle loves to work alongside you in reconnecting and rebuilding emotional intimacy. Whether you have been married for 30 years, living together long-term, recently engaged, or perhaps taking a break; let’s develop a plan to get you where you want to be in your relationship. Clients often feel they have made a sound investment in their relationship and a sense of relief because they know their concerns are actively being addressed.
In addition to EMDR Therapy, Janelle uses a type of therapy called Brainspotting to address difficult situations, painful memories or trauma. Brainspotting is a brain and body-based psychotherapy rooted in neuroscience, which allows the brain to change and serve as a catalyst for healing. Janelle provides a warm, attuned, and safe space to process what is troubling you. Brainspotting is similar to EMDR, however, it requires less talking, and results can be seen in a shorter amount of time. Brainspotting is effective with all forms of trauma, anxiety, ADHD, anger, phobias, chronic pain, and sports performance issues, just to name a few.
In her free time, Janelle enjoys spending time with her family and rescue animals, building bonfires, traveling and juicing.
